The Steam Association of Manitoba will present Steam School 2024 on the grounds of the Manitoba Agricultural Museum August 9 to 11, 2024.
The tuition fee is $75, food service for the entire weekend is $50 (visitors welcome) and camping is provided on the grounds. Activities are split about 50-50 between classroom and hands on with live steam traction engines. If you plan to obtain a Manitoba Steam Traction ticket (power engineer class ST), this course provides 20 hours of the 100 hours of required training.
To register, you have to fill out an application, sign a waiver and provide payment to the Steam Association of Manitoba. To attend, you should provide yourself with work boots, gloves, hat and clothing that can get dirty.
We’ll start with supper at 6PM on Friday followed by the first class room session. Saturday and Sunday are a combination of classroom and hands-on activities. We’ll wrap up with presentations and goodbyes on Sunday at 4PM.
